There are many memberships and websites where you can buy Private Label Rights or PLR articles. These are articles that are distributed, usually on a limited basis, to many people. Typically you get the right to use them as is, modify them, put your name on them and do just about anything except resell them. Every membership has different terms, so you need to check those before using any PLR articles.
How can PLR articles help you?
Well, since they are not unique, you probably don’t want to use them as is. You definitely can’t submit them to article directories as-is, but you could try publishing them on your site especially if they are good quality articles.
Depending on how you feel about duplicate content, you might think that if several other people also publish the article than yours may not come up in any searches, however you can actually improve your odds by getting inbound links to the article. If you have more links to that page than the next guy, it’s a pretty good chance that yours will be the one the SE’s pick to show when people search for those keywords!
(I say TO THAT PAGE, because I want to distinguish that from links to the home page. So you might want to post a link to it in blogs, on social bookmarking sites and squidoo lenses to make it more popular.)
But, aside from using them as-is, PLR articles have a greater benefit and this is simply that the research on the topic is done for you. Instead of scouring the internet for information on your topic, you can pick a PLR article and, as long as it is a good quality, well written article) you can simply rewrite it using the information you have gleaned from the article. It saves a lot of time!
But wait … you don’t want your articles to be like everyone else’s do you?
Of course not! That’s why you’ll want to give your article a different twist to make it unique. You see, if everyone is submitting rewritten articles to Ezinearticles on “How To Cure Acne With Sand”, then who will read yours? You need an angle. So one of the things I like to do is combine the information from several PLR articles into 1 really unique article. So my article could be “5 Ways To Cure Acne Using Natural Substances” or something like that. Not the same old stuff everyone else is submitting.
Yes, it does take some work, but it will pay off for you over and over again.
The other thing that PLR articles are great for is article spinning. I’m not going to talk to much about this now because I will go over it in depth in a future post, but article spinning can be a very profitable technique for getting traffic and – no – I am not talking about the kind where you produce a bunch of crappy low quality articles either!
So, where do you get PLR articles? There are dozens of places, but I’m going to list only the services I have tried out below, that way I can let you know a bit about them and how I liked them. Article Underground – If you join only 1 PLR service, it should be this one! That’s because it not only do you get 400 articles every month you also get access to their high PR blogs and members blogs where you can post links back to the articles on your site. This is a HUGE benefit (in a later post I’ll show you how you can double, triple, quadruple – or more – your traffic using this system). I’m a member and I don’t even use the articles – I just use the blogs and, believe me that pays for the membership many times over. He also has a ton of videos and tips and resources and a pretty active forum. Now the articles are of decent quality – some are darn good, others just OK. While most PLR services offer batches of articles on certain niches each month, this one uses a keyword approach and you get 400 articles that are written around keywords so your not stuck with 10 “niches” that you might not want as they are on a variety of topics so there is sure to be something that you can use.
Niche Content Packages – This is by far the absolute best quality PLR on the internet. Heads above the rest really. And the best part is that you can order just the niches you are interested in! (most memberships put out a bunch of articles each month and you are stuck with them even the ones you are not interested in) Plus it includes great headers with the article packs. It’s setup really great because you have the option to pay monthly, or simply go in and pay for each pack individually. The distribution is limited usually too between 200 and 400 and you can see how many have been sold already so you can get an idea of how many people you are competing against. It does cost a bit more than the others per article but well worth it if you want the quality.
PLRPro – This membership offers 440 SEO Optimized articles every month and the distribution of these articles is limited to 200. Each month they pick 11 niches (you get to vote on them) and then you get 40 articles for each nice. Plus they have a ton of resources, tips and videos to help you out AND they are putting together a traffic system for you to post your articles on for gaining back links. You also get access to their writing service where you can pay to have unique articles written for yourself. The articles are pretty decent and, again, having the traffic system is a huge bonus.
