Making Squidoo Lenses DoFollow – How To Add A Hyperlink To Your Squidoo Lens

One of the most common questions I get is “How do I add links to my website from a Squidoo lens?”.  This is a good question because there is a right way and wrong way to do this in order to make your Squidoo lens dofollow.

When it comes to Squidoo, not all links are dofollow.  For example, if you put in your website RSS feed or make a list of links, these will be nofollow and while they are nice to have on the lens (and you might get traffic from them too) the will not pass you any authority or link juice.

So how do you add links to your website from a Squidoo lens and get them to count as far as Page Rank goes?

It’s easy – you just add them to the text module.  Here’s how to do it:

When you create or edit a Lens, one of the modules you can add is a text module. This is where you add your hyperlink.

What you do is you edit the text module and use the href code to create a hyper link.  Here is a picture of one of my lenses and how I have added the hyperlink – see the area I circled in red?

To be specific, the code for a hyperlink is:

<a href=”YourWebsiteLink.com”>Your Anchor Text</a>

Obviously, you want to replace “YourWebsiteLink.com” and “Your Anchor Text” with the page you want to link to and the anchor text you want to use.

When you are done, you can save the text module and you should see the hyperlink on the lens just like in the picture below:

Don’t forget to publish your lens after you are done adding modules!

So, there you have it – that’s how I add links to my website from a Squidoo lens!
