Which Keywords Are The Most Profitable?

These days, it’s not enough just to find keywords that have low competition (and, hopefully lots of searches) you also have to target ones that will be profitable.

But what makes for a profitable keyword?

I don’t know what other people use as criteria, but for me a profitable keyword is one that is a “buying” keyword.  What I mean by that is that the person typing it in has most likely completed their research and is simply looking to buy the item.

So that would be something like “6 cup espresso machine”  or “white mini laptop” or even “Weider adjustable dumbbells”.

It’s a more specific keyword which would be something that someone who knows what they would would be typing.

That works pretty good for product type keywords.  For adsense income, you would want to target keywords in high paying niches – typically finance and travel niches are good but there are plenty of others you could try (one way to get an idea is to use the google adwords keyword tool and see what the CPC is for adwords).

OK, well that’s just how I decide on a profitable keyword is – maybe you might want to comment on what works for you?
