Why You Should Get Links To Your Articles

Over and over again, I hear the question …..

“Why should I spend time linking to the articles I submit to article directories when I could use that time linking to my own website or blog?”

Of course, the question is a valid one, but what most people don’t realize is that by linking to their articles, they are, in effect, also providing a link to their website or blog.

Think about the reason that you write and submit articles to article directories like Ezinearticles. One reason is to get traffic from the article directory itself but probably the most popular reason is to get a backlink from an “authority” site to your own website. As we all know, this link counts as sort of a “vote” and can help you to increase your search engine rankings.

We like to submit to article directories that have a high PR or authority because in the eyes of the search engines, the more links we can get back to our site from sites with a high PR, the better. These links count for more than just a link from a PR0 blog or article directory.

So, using that same logic, would a link from an article that has several links coming in to it be worth more than an article that has no links?

Of course it would.

And that’s why spending a few minutes to get some links to your article that you just posted on Ezinearticles, Squidoo or Buzzle is time well spent. Not only will it give you a more authoritative link to your website but it will also help push the article up in the search engines which will bring more traffic to the article, and, in turn, more traffic to your website!
